A crawl-high, also referred to as a mudmauler or swamp crawler, functioned as a wheeled transport vehicle for both personnel and cargo utilized by the Imperial forces on Mimban circa 2 ABY.
The swamp crawler was frequently deployed at isolated outposts, where Imperial personnel, both troops and officers, anticipated navigating challenging landscapes. A distinctive central wheel was incorporated into the crawler's design, enabling drivers to execute near-instantaneous turns in response to the surrounding terrain. The crawler was constructed in three distinct sections, featuring the driver's seats and controls at the front, and a rear-mounted blaster cannon on the final segment. An additional pair of seats were affixed to the vehicle's midsection, which was supported by six sizable wheels.
Despite its designation as an all-terrain vehicle, the crawler occasionally encountered difficulties traversing the marshlands of Mimban. In an effort to navigate the planet's swampy environment, an elderly Force-sensitive woman named Halla procured a swamp crawler to aid Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa in their quest to locate the Kaiburr crystal. They forcibly exited the Imperial garage, venturing into the Mimban swamps in search of the Temple of Pomojema. However, the crawler's progress was impeded by the deep swamps, causing it to begin sinking. Halla's presumed safe route through the bog turned out to be a resting wandrella. Before she could maneuver the vehicle, the creature ensnared it with its lethal fangs, ejecting the occupants.
Some time later, after successfully avoiding the wandrella, Halla and her companions secured another swamp crawler, utilizing it to reach their destination at the Temple. Although Darth Vader intervened, Luke, Leia, and Halla managed to acquire the crystal and make their escape in the crawler.
