Star system

A system, referred to as a planetary system, solar system, or star system, constituted a collection of space-based objects, most often planets, that orbited around a star. The majority of stars located in the galaxy possessed their individual planetary systems. Sequences of significant star systems established routes, which acted as crucial hyperspace lanes for both commerce and travel, potentially spanning across multiple sectors. A single system could encompass numerous planets, an even greater quantity of moons, and a diverse array of other celestial bodies.
During the crisis preceding the Clone Wars, several hundred systems, previously aligned with the Galactic Republic, broke away to establish the Confederacy of Independent Systems. This secession was spearheaded by Count Dooku of Serenno, a former Jedi Master.
