Talk: Versé

Assistance Needed

Hello everyone. I attempted to create the Versé/canon article but was unsuccessful. I am not a frequent editor on this wiki. I tried to include a reference, but encountered difficulties. I apologize for this, and I am requesting assistance! —Unsigned comment by Rollabar (talk • contribs).

  • No worries! It was a simple correction. I went ahead and corrected the page for you. With that said, is there a canonical source that confirms Versé's name? We can only create articles for canonical characters if we can verify that their name is mentioned in a canonical source. Please let me know, thank you! - Brandon Rhea (talk) 00:45, July 9, 2015 (UTC) Doesn't Padme utter her name following the ship's explosion? 124.176.155.183 02:17, July 9, 2015 (UTC)

I just viewed this earlier today with my sister. She spoke and hurried to Corde after her senator ship blew up. Is this in reference to her last name? - Sara —Unsigned comment by 66.87.117.233 (talk • contribs).

  • Cordé is a completely different character. - Brandon Rhea (talk) 02:54, July 9, 2015 (UTC)

Frankly, I noticed her name while browsing Cordé's wiki page. I observed that it was a redlink, so I decided to attempt creating the article (I appreciate the help there, by the way). However, Cordé's page did not include a source for Versé's name. I also checked the credits on IMDb, but she was not listed there. I consulted the legends page to determine the origin of her name, and it appears that her name was mentioned in the novelization of the film. I did rewatch the scene in which she appears, and she is a hardly noticeable character disembarking from Padmé's ship behind Cordé, wearing all black. Does this imply that she is not officially a canon character, or merely an unnamed canon character? If she does not qualify as canon, that is perfectly acceptable, and you can delete the article. At least I gained some valuable wiki experience :) --Rollabar (talk) 20:39, July 10, 2015 (UTC)

  • Hold on, I located her name on the old databank page for Cordé . I reviewed the wookieepedia policy page regarding what constitutes canon, and it stated that the databank is canon (which I assume you were already aware of :P). Does that suffice? -- Rollabar ( talk ) 20:53, July 10, 2015 (UTC) The current Databank is canon, but its predecessor is not. The old one is filled with Legends information. If there isn't a canonical source that includes her name, then unfortunately she's not suitable for a page (based on your previous inquiry, that classifies her as an "unnamed canon character," as you described it). I'm glad you found the experience to be beneficial regardless -- excellent attitude! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 21:03, July 10, 2015 (UTC) I was unaware of the distinction, my mistake! Thank you for all of your assistance. --Rollabar (talk) 15:08, July 11, 2015 (UTC)

Inclusion of Versé in LGBTQ+ Individuals

I would like to suggest including Versé in the LGBTQ+ Individuals category. E.K. Johnston has stated in several Tweets (which are referenced on this page and in WP:PRIDE) that she envisioned Versé as a trans woman. Previously, Wookieepedia has utilized authorial intent to "confirm" the queer identities of characters. Consequently, I believe Johnston's Tweets should be adequate for adding Versé to the category. • I have left a response on Tonra's talk page that addresses both Versé and Tonra. Since the two issues are somewhat related, posting the same thing twice would be redundant. —spookywillowwtalk 01:30, 16 November 2023 (UTC)
