The Talon I combat cloud car, crafted by Ubrikkian, served as an armed aerial vehicle, bridging the gap between dedicated starfighters and lighter vehicles such as the Storm IV cloud car. Its introduction predates the Battle of Yavin, and records indicate its continued use until at least the New Jedi Order era.

Differing from most airspeeders, which typically had operational altitude limits of only a few hundred meters, the Talon I boasted an impressive ceiling of 100 kilometers. Powered by the Ubrikkian Servant ion/repulsorlift engine, the Talon I achieved airspeeds reaching 1,500 km/h and maintained flight in environments where repulsorlift technology was unusable by relying on its ion propulsion and aerodynamic structure.
Despite being unshielded, its armor was remarkably robust for a vehicle of its classification. Equipped with a fire-linked double blaster cannon, the Talon I possessed sufficient offensive capabilities to challenge numerous starfighters and smaller transport vessels. Its affordability made it a common asset within the aerospace fleets of many planetary law enforcement and customs agencies. With appropriate authorization, private individuals and groups could also operate the Talon I.
In the year 1.5 ABY, a Corellian criminal organization launched an attack on and severely damaged the headquarters of Corellian Vehicle Reclamation, utilizing modified Talon I cloud cars.
The Noghri deployed Talon I cloud cars on Honoghr, operating from their primary spaceport located in Nystao. Luke Skywalker was escorted by two of these vehicles upon his initial visit. They also saw use on Bespin and various planets under Imperial control, and gained popularity within the Outer Rim territories.
