Tamoss, much like his associate Daushoroc, belonged to the Eirrauc species and previously endured enslavement under the Galactic Empire. Following their joint escape, and after establishing a secure haven for fellow escaped slaves, they transitioned into merchants specializing in valuable gemstones, unique curios, and uncommon historical items.
At some point amidst the Galactic Civil War, they journeyed to Tatooine with the objective of locating the downed Athallian Messenger. To merely reach the desert region where the wreckage was rumored to exist, the pair of merchants found it necessary to negotiate a truce with a clan of Tusken Raiders.
