Tan'tro functioned as a pilot within the Rebel Alliance throughout the duration of the Galactic Civil War.
Subsequent to the Rebels' acquisition of intelligence concerning an Imperial convoy assembling close to Orron III while headed towards the Death Star, Tan'tro participated as a member of a joint strike force. This force consisted of Y-wings originating from both Red and Gold squadrons, in addition to a X-wing dispatched from Blue Squadron, all tasked with eliminating the convoy. Tan'tro's assignment placed him in Red Squadron, collaborating with Captain Keyan Farlander and Ahsmar for the undertaking.
While Ahsmar and Tan'tro were in the midst of combat with accompanying Assault Gunboats, Farlander put in a request for their support in taking out a freighter. In their urgency to provide assistance, both Y-wings broke off their engagement with the Imperial fighters; this resulted in their destruction by the Gunboats, with fatal consequences for both pilots.
Commander [Lagrane], who was Farlander's briefing officer, placed him on suspension from active missions while awaiting a formal inquiry into the circumstances. Eventually, he was reinstated to active status, but not before receiving a reprimand and being mandated to undergo refresher training in the flight simulators.
