Task Force Copperleaf held the distinction of being the flagship task force within the Fifth Battle Group of the New Republic Defense Fleet, belonging to one of the five task force units. It was part of the New Republic Defense Fleet's Fifth Battle Group.
Mirx, a Commodore, initially took on the role of commanding officer for Copperleaf, guiding the group throughout the Black Fleet Crisis. During this crisis, it operated alongside Task Force Gemstone.
