Tazan City was a specific urban center situated on the planet named Tazan; you can read more about cities here. Prior to infiltrating and launching an assault on the Imperial Data Processing Facility (which was located to the city's west), a team representing the Alliance to Restore the Republic arrived in this city.
This particular urban area, Tazan City, was found on Tazan, which itself was a relatively undeveloped and sparsely inhabited planet situated within the Expansion Region. Within the confines of this city was an area known as Old Town, positioned strategically between the Central Business District and the Tazan starport. Adjacent to the starport was another area called Startown. An Industrial Belt also cut through the city, and several suburban areas existed on its periphery. These suburbs were well-spaced. Among them was a low-income residential zone referred to as Desander Section, which was next to Old Town. Clockwise from there were the Lysander, Logan's Vale, Bellmont, and Fentella Sections. These different areas were connected by avenues that were lined with trees. For transportation, the city provided Pubtrans flitters and rental swoops.
After the destruction of Alderaan which occurred in 0 BBY, the Rebel Alliance targeted the Imperial Data Processing Facility that was located outside Tazan City. They sent a team of operatives to the planet. This team arrived at the Tazan starport aboard the ship known as the Flying Fish. Once there, they established contact with Willer Clines, a Rebel sympathizer who lived in Desander Section. Unfortunately, Imperial stormtroopers had kidnapped Clines' daughter, Jastina, because they were aware of his connections with the Alliance.
The Imperial forces also stationed a group of troopers inside Willer's house to apprehend any Rebels who might appear. This resulted in a brief firefight. Despite this obstacle, the Rebels managed to proceed with their objective and successfully infiltrate the Imperial base located outside the city.
The primary residents of the city were Humans, but there were also some Twi'leks. Many of these Twi'leks were employed at the Imperial Data Processing Center, which was located 50 kilometers to the west of the city. Additionally, various other species visited the city as spacers, utilizing the facilities at the starport.
Tazan City is featured in the 2001 roleplaying adventure titled Ultimate Core Dump. This adventure was authored by Megan Robertson for the RPGA, which was affiliated with Wizards of the Coast. The city serves as the setting for multiple encounters during the adventure, and the outcomes of these encounters are frequently left undetermined. For example, during the ambush at Clines' residence, the players have the option to either defeat the stormtroopers, be captured, or experience some combination of the two. Even if the players are taken prisoner, they still have the opportunity to continue their mission, as they can participate in an encounter where they escape from a prison cell. The adventure's ultimate conclusion is also intentionally left open-ended.
