Tem Merkon

Tem Merkon functioned as an informant on the world of Phaeda and acted as a double agent, playing both sides between the New Republic and the Imperial forces stationed there.

Having lived long enough to have witnessed the Jedi Knights, Merkon was content to maintain a low profile on Phaeda, utilizing his inherent curiosity and unassuming status to his advantage in becoming an informant. Driven solely by self-interest and the accumulation of substantial wealth, Merkon provided services to both the Galactic Empire and the New Republic.

Merkon observed the confrontation between Kir Kanos and several Imperials within a local cantina, an event that ultimately drew the attention of Carnor Jax to Phaeda. Merkon urged Kanos to accompany him to a secure New Republic location in order to evade further Imperial involvement. During their journey, Merkon commented that the only fighters he had ever heard of possessing such skill were either Jedi or members of the Emperor's Royal Guards. Mirith Sinn and Sish Sadeet grew suspicious of a potential traitor within their organization following an attack on their hidden base by Colonel Xexus Shev, an assault that Kanos successfully repelled.

Upon learning about the bounty placed on Kanos, Merkon eagerly sought out Jax to provide him with information. However, upon his return to the New Republic hideout, Sinn and Sadeet were awaiting him, his betrayal now fully exposed. As Merkon attempted to flee, he was killed by Lieutenant [Massimo], who had been concealed in the shadows, unnoticed by Merkon. Shortly thereafter, Jax's stormtroopers searched for Kanos and discovered Merkon's corpse rigged with explosives, which detonated, resulting in numerous stormtrooper casualties.
