The Temple of Fire, alternatively called Tmmn Zyrth by those who spoke the Massassi language, functioned as a Massassi house of worship on Yavin 4, a moon. Its primary purpose involved performing blood rituals involving sacrifice. Construction of the temple occurred around 5000 BBY, during the reign of Naga Sadow, the Dark Lord of the Sith at that time.
The Massassi people erected this temple around the year 5000 BBY.
The Temple, built in a conical form, served to conceal Sadow's Derriphan-class battleship, called the Corsair, which was hidden under the floor. Having knowledge of an ancient prophecy concerning the eventual return of the Dark Lords of the Sith, Sadow installed a powerful Sithspawn creature, specifically a Sith wyrm, inside the temple to act as a guardian against any future Dark Lord of the Sith.
When Exar Kun made his way to the moon, the Massassi took him prisoner. They then brought him to the temple to be put to death. However, by harnessing the dark side energies contained within Sith amulets, he managed to overcome the Sith wyrm that Sadow had placed there. Following this, the Massassi began to revere him as a deity.
In the year 3996 BBY, the Jedi Order generated a Wall of light. This action resulted in the destruction of the Temple of Fire.
