The Sith known as Tenebrae, a member of the Sith species, first came into existence in 5113 BBY on the agriworld of Medriaas, specifically within a small village. This village was situated on the planet's distant northern continent, quite a distance away from his biological father, the Sith Lord named Dramath. At the tender age of six, Tenebrae committed the act of killing both his mother and his adoptive father. Following this, he initiated a campaign of torture against the other inhabitants of the village, thereby establishing his dominance over the nearby territory. In 5100 BBY, after transforming into Lord Vitiate and giving the planet a new name, Nathema, the village was mostly destroyed to make way for the construction of his grand palace.
