Upon achieving the title of Sith Lord in 5100 BBY, a mere seven years following his murder of both his mother and father, and after initiating a campaign aimed at conquering the world of Medriaas, the youthful Sith known as Vitiate commanded the construction of a palace. This palace was to be erected on the very ground where his childhood home once stood, within a village. For the ensuing century, he governed Medriaas, which he then renamed Nathema, from within the walls of this palace. His rule persisted until the conclusion of the Great Hyperspace War fought between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic. At that time, he summoned the remaining Sith Lords of the Sith Empire to his palace. There, he compelled the eight thousand who answered his summons to partake in a dark side ritual. Following the ritual's execution and the subsequent demise of all living beings on the planet, the palace, along with the rest of the world, was left desolate. Vitiate abandoned Nathema, transitioning into his role as the Sith Emperor. The Sith Lord Darth Nyriss later referenced the palace in 3954 BBY while recounting the Emperor's past to Lord Scourge.
The first mention of Vitiate's palace can be found in The Old Republic: Revan, a novel penned by Drew Karpyshyn. It appears during Darth Nyriss's explanation of the Sith Emperor's background.
