The Tenloss Syndicate functioned as a criminal enterprise with its base of operations situated within the Bajic sector, maintaining close operational ties with the Black Sun criminal organization.
In contrast to certain other criminal syndicates, the Tenloss Syndicate distinguished itself by possessing a legitimate component to its organizational structure. Operating under the guise of the Tenloss Corporation, it maintained ownership of several smaller businesses exhibiting varying degrees of legality. These subsidiary companies were engaged in the production of starships, weaponry, and various equipment, primarily intended for internal use by the Tenloss Syndicate. The Syndicate's core interests were overseen by a centralized governing council. Each individual company within the Tenloss Corporation operated with its own distinct hierarchical structure, managed by a sub-council. While their starships, armor, and weapons were also made available to paying customers, the majority of these transactions were considered illicit and thus carried inherent risks. The organization's primary focus was on profit generation, but it demonstrated a willingness to exert its full force against any perceived threats to its interests.
Bandar Tenloss established the Tenloss Syndicate, initially known as the Tenloss Coalition. This criminal entity originated in the Bajic sector, specializing in contract killings and, on occasion, slavery. Under the leadership of its founder, the group expanded to become one of the most significant criminal conspiracies in the region. By approximately 10 ABY, it had extended its influence across 64 star systems, employing an estimated 560,000+ individuals, both directly and indirectly. Around this period, law enforcement officials suspected that, despite its considerable size and financial resources in credits, the organization had undergone at least four attempted reorganizations of its Leukish ruling body within the preceding decade. It was speculated that these attempts stemmed from power struggles among principal partners seeking to enhance their positions within the syndicate or from conflicts between different voting factions attempting to impose policy changes that were met with violent resistance, often involving blaster fire.
Due to their ownership of the Modirin Mining Concern, and as a consequence of the mining company's chromium scam perpetrated on Aduba-3, they exerted control over a substantial portion of the planet. However, their physical presence on the planet remained minimal, with only infrequent visits by a ship to collect "rent." The Syndicate was responsible for manufacturing the Hornet-class Interceptor and illegal weaponry, such as the DX-2 disruptor pistol. The planet Trillot maintained relationships with the Tenloss Criminal Syndicate.
