Thape

Thape, a celestial body, existed within the Thape system. This system was situated in the Lambda sector of the Slice, which itself was part of the Mid Rim. A hyperlane provided a connection to both the Ando and Leritor systems. The Force-sensitive society known as the Order of Dai Bendu, who were present on the planet Ando Prime in the Ando system from approximately 37,453 BBY to around 32 BBY, maintained a presence at Thape during the period between roughly 25,000 BBY and 22,000 BBY.

Behind the scenes

The reference book The Essential Atlas, written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry and released in 2009, marked the initial mention of Thape; it was located in grid square Q-15. Its name is similar to a misspelling found in Skywalking: The Life and Films of George Lucas, a 1984 biography of Star Wars creator George Lucas by Dale Pollock. The misspelling, "Usby C. J. Thape," refers to "C. J. Thorpe," the "padawaan learner" of "Jedi-bendu" Mace Windy, as written in Journal of the Whills (Part) I. This journal was the earliest story outline Lucas created in 1973 when he was developing Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, the 1977 film that was the first part of the original trilogy.
