The fifth stage of the Dragonbane circuit was The Drop. In contrast to the fourth stage, In a Pinch, where swoop racers ascended a tight ravine towards a crest, The Drop was essentially a significant descent towards the planet's surface.
The Drop had a reputation for unsettling racers who weren't prepared for the sudden transition from In a Pinch into a rapid, uncontrolled fall from a considerable altitude. Upon entering The Drop, racers had a clear view of the sky above and the expansive landscape of Agrilat stretching out beneath them.
Besides the inherent risk of falling, competitors also faced strong winds and sudden showers. Encounters with raptor flocks attacking racers during this segment of the Dragonbane circuit were not uncommon.
