The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance is the complete, spoken-word version of the Star Wars Legends novel bearing the same title, penned by the author Sean Williams. Marc Thompson lent his voice to the audiobook rendition, which was brought to the public by Random House Audio on July 20, 2010.
An auction orchestrated by Tassaa Bareesh, a leading figure within the Hutt crime syndicate, is attracting widespread attention across the galaxy. Present at the event are representatives from both the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, alongside a Jedi Padawan dispatched for investigative purposes, a former soldier dismissed from the Republic's prestigious Black Star Squad, and a mysterious Mandalorian named Dao Stryver, each with their own hidden motives. However, the Republic's representative is not genuine, the Empire's delegate is a heartless Sith apprentice, the Jedi Padawan is struggling to maintain the right path, the trooper is seeking to restore her honor, and the Mandalorian is somehow managing to stay ahead of everyone.
None of these attendees—whether invited or not—intend to participate in the auction itself. Their true aim is to seize the prize, secured within an impenetrable vault: two scorched fragments of a destroyed star cruiser, one of which potentially holds the key to the riches of an entire planet.
Yet, the reality of the treasure is fraught with peril and fatality. Ultimately, Sith and Jedi, Republic and Empire, must engage in an unprecedented act, one that all the forces of good and evil could never compel them to do: unite to confront a formidable threat capable of annihilating the galaxy…
Marc Thompson narrated the audiobook, which Random House Audio made available on July 20, 2010 as both a downloadable digital file and a collection of eleven compact discs. Kevin Thomsen served as director, while Dan Zitt took on the role of producer.
