The Red Ghost: An Ewok Adventure is a book for children from 1986 that is based on the thirteenth episode, "Asha," of the Ewoks television program.
While Paploo, Teebo, and Wicket Wystri Warrick, who are all Ewoks, are using their hang gliders to gather nuts and roots, they come across King Gorneesh and a group of Duloks who are fleeing from something they refer to as "the Red Ghost." The Ewoks decide to investigate and discover a maramu caught in a net, a victim of the Duloks' trophy hunting activities. However, when Teebo attempts to set the animal free, a red-furred Ewok with a threatening appearance shows up carrying a korrina. The Ewoks then use their gliders to escape.
After returning to Bright Tree Village, Wicket tells Kneesaa about what happened. Kneesaa thinks that the "Red Ghost" might actually be her sister, Asha, who everyone thought had died when a hanadak killed their mother, Ra-Lee. Later that night, Kneesaa sets out to find the Ewok, convinced that it is her sister. Wicket goes with her.
As the two young Ewoks make their way through the forest, a light snowfall intensifies into a major storm, causing them to become lost. Wicket attempts to get a better view of the valley from a ledge, but he is too heavy and almost falls. However, the red-furred Ewok they encountered the day before saves him. Asha and Kneesaa recognize each other, and Asha leads the Ewoks from Bright Tree Village to her home, a cave where she lives with a family of korrinas. Kneesaa tries to persuade Asha to return home, but Asha insists that she must first prevent the Duloks from harming the valley's animals.
The following morning, Wicket and Kneesaa find Asha in the middle of a hunt with Gorneesh and his Duloks. She frees the animal they were hunting, defeats the Duloks, and forbids them from ever hunting in the area again. The Ewoks and the korrinas then travel to Bright Tree Village, where Asha is reunited with her father, Chief Chirpa. Afterwards, the village holds a celebration.
