Z0-0M, the being created by the original Shroud, ultimately gained control of the syndicate. During the Galactic War that pitted the Galactic Republic against the Sith Empire, the Shroud's syndicate, a vast network of agents and resources spread across the galaxy, was under the direction of the Shroud, an intelligence operative. These resources were assigned codenames consisting of a letter indicating their affiliation or location, followed by a number; for example, Asset R-3 who was within the Republic. For example, Asset C-5 and Asset O-9 were sent to the moons CZ-198 and Oricon, respectively. Asset I-44's assignment was to study the Empire's mining operations on [Makeb]. Meanwhile, Assets R-104, R-89, and R-12 all had the mission of penetrating the inner circle of Supreme Chancellor Leontyne Saresh.
