The Young

The collective known as The Young comprised children and teenagers originating from the planet of Melida/Daan, and they stood in opposition to the civil conflict that plagued their world.

History

Notwithstanding their stance against the war, this clandestine youth group resorted to violent means against both warring factions, aiming to accomplish their objectives. These objectives encompassed the cessation of all civil war-related actions, alongside the obliteration of the "Halls of Evidence," essentially war memorials. A significant portion of the Young's members were orphans, having lost their parents in combat. Their grandparents, on the other hand, were affiliated with either the Melida military or the Daan military. Many of the Young's operational hubs were situated within the underground sewer systems of Zehava, the capital city of Melida/Daan.

Cerasi and Nield jointly headed the Young, while numerous smaller "country" factions existed beyond the metropolitan areas of Melida/Daan.

A few years before the Trade Federation Invasion of Naboo, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn were dispatched to Melida/Daan with the mission of rescuing Jedi Knight Tahl. However, their unearthing of, and subsequent engagement with, the Young resulted in Obi-Wan's decision to remain behind, with the purpose of facilitating the planet's reunification. Upon the Young successfully reaching their ambitions, they became consumed by a thirst for power, which in turn instigated internal strife. The demise of Cerasi, one of the Young's leaders, was necessary to bring about the faction's renewed unity. Peace was eventually established on Melida/Daan. At this juncture, Obi-Wan understood that his destiny lay with the Jedi, rather than with the Young.
