The Thidaxx, also called Tar monsters, represented a predatory species of creatures that lived in caves and originated from Taul. These beings possessed writhing tentacles and heads resembling those of a shark, which were covered in eyes. Before the Battle of Takodana took place, a collection of droids that found themselves stuck on Taul were assaulted by these tar monsters. The monsters dismantled 2MED2, obliterated CO-34, and then seized C-3PO's left arm, endeavoring to pull him away. Nevertheless, O-MR1 grasped his companion droid tightly, resulting in the monsters only managing to detach C-3PO's left arm.
