During the Cold War era, a period of tension between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire, he found himself stationed on the planet of Balmorra. As a member of the Imperial Conquest Consolidation Corps, Thorpe participated in the suppression of the Balmorran resistance, and he did not approve of the explosive tendencies exhibited by his fellow officer, Lieutenant Davrill.
