Three Diamonds Parade Formation

The Three Diamonds Parade Formation represented a complex arrangement of starfighters utilized during parades to showcase a squadron's aerial accuracy. This formation involved splitting the squadron into three distinct flights, arranged in a triangular shape, with one flight positioned at the forefront and the remaining two flights trailing behind. Within each flight, the starfighters assumed a diamond-shaped configuration, featuring one starfighter leading the way, one positioned at the rear, and two occupying the central positions. Critically, all starfighters maintained a consistent orientation, facing the same direction throughout the maneuver.

History

Following Rogue Squadron's triumphant return to Coruscant after their successful liberation of the planet Thyferra from the control of Ysanne Isard, they were met by another squadron also known as Rogue Squadron. Derek Klivian, the leader of this second squadron, clarified that the Provisional Council established this second squadron after the original Rogues relinquished their official duties to pursue their war against Isard. This was done to uphold the image of Rogue Squadron, a symbol of the New Republic.

En route to the Imperial Plaza, where a civilian audience awaited their arrival, the original Rogue Squadron engaged the impostor squadron in a display of aerial skill. Employing the Three Diamonds Parade Formation, the two squadrons captivated the audience with their intricate flight maneuvers, each attempting to obstruct the other's landing.
