TIE fighter boat

The TIE fighter boat represented a water-based dominance modification of the standard TIE/LN starfighter. This unique TIE fighter was engineered for underwater functionality while still retaining the capacity for surface-level combat operations.

Characteristics

These water-based attack vehicles featured the iconic TIE cockpit, albeit in a stretched form, drawing inspiration from the TIE/sa bomber. Operation was handled by a pair of crew members (a pilot and a gunner), frequently aquatic assault stormtroopers.

The bottom portions of the solar arrays were shaped into "runners" to allow the craft to glide across the water. The top portions were removed to give the pilots better views.

History

TIE fighter boats were frequently stationed with Imperial Army aquatic garrisons where they fulfilled the roles of water-based attack and patrol vehicles. TIE fighter boats also cooperated with AT-AT swimmers and aquatic assault stormtroopers during underwater attacks.

The MFB-4 Mobile Repulsor Base that was stationed on Alluuvia transported a large number of TIE fighter boats.
