Toria Tell, a Human female droid hailing from the Outer Rim world of Tebru, was an accomplished inventor, historian, and avid collector. On that rocky planet, she possessed a sprawling residence that housed not only her workshop and an extensive research library, but also a droid collection featuring some of the most ancient and uncommon droids ever created. Her passion for droids – collecting, building, and studying them – stemmed from her deep fascination with efficient machinery, its interaction with its environment and organic beings, and her conviction that machines could perform tasks reliably, free from the unpredictable and potentially dangerous flaws of living beings.
Beyond her work at home, Tell journeyed across the galaxy aboard her standard light freighter, seeking out new droid designs, adding to her collection, and documenting her discoveries in "Toria Tell's Droid Journal," a limited-circulation, private scandoc. During the Galactic Civil War, one edition of this scandoc provided details on the TelBrinTel Science Research Droid, the Lovolan Supreme-class servant droid, the Scavenger Series Labor and Recycling Droid, the Ulban Arms Class I Defense Droid, and the Publictechnic 850.AA Public Service Headquarters and Maintenance Droid. Furthermore, using the username "Toria," she offered commentary on the S2R(A) Science Droid and the 87-RM Scouting Droid within Version 4.7.110 of Cynabar's Droid Datalog.
Her actions earned her a reputation as a tenacious and resourceful individual who stirred up trouble. The source of her funding remained a mystery to many, leading to speculation that she had either inherited a significant inheritance or was, in fact, a highly compensated spy. Officials of the Empire suspected she was a cog in the growing network of dissidents and rebels within the Rebel Alliance.
When she travelled, Tell always carried a comlink, a portable computer, a tool kit, and a hold-out blaster, in addition to her standard light freighter.
