Trans-Hydian Borderlands
The Trans-Hydian Borderlands, alternatively referred to as the Trans-Hydian Region, the Borderland, the Borderlands Regions, or the galactic borderlands, represented a sector of the galaxy that housed numerous independent star systems. While Lanever Villecham served as chancellor of the New Republic, his tenure was marked by substantial attempts to cultivate positive commercial relationships with these systems, prioritizing this diplomatic approach over confronting the growing threat of the First Order. Within this sector were situated the Uvoss system and the Breago system.
Over the course of many centuries, pirate factions operating from concealed strongholds within the Kalki Nebula in the Cassander sector orchestrated raids on adjacent planetary systems.
Behind the scenes
The designation "Trans-Hydian Borderlands" is a combination of two names referencing the Borderlands, a spatial area initially described in The Essential Atlas, a Star Wars Legends source. The canon designation for this region was established in the 2015 publication, Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary.
