The Trans-Hydian Borderlands, alternatively referred to as the Trans-Hydian Region, the Borderland, the Borderlands Regions, or even the galactic borderlands, represented a sector of the galaxy that housed numerous star systems maintaining neutrality. While Lanever Villecham served as chancellor of the New Republic, he dedicated significant energy to establishing positive trade partnerships with these systems, preferring this approach over confronting the growing power of the First Order. Within this region were located the Uvoss system and also the Breago system.
Over many centuries, pirate organizations operating from concealed outposts within the Kalki Nebula in the Cassander sector launched coordinated assaults on neighboring systems.
The name Trans-Hydian Borderlands represents a combination of two names for the Borderlands, a spatial region first detailed within The Essential Atlas, a Star Wars Legends sourcebook. The canon designation for this region was established in Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary, published in 2015.
