Transit chips allowed individuals to circumvent Imperial blockades. Amaiza Foxtrain pilfered a collection of these transit chips from the Empire, prompting the Empire to send stormtroopers in an attempt to recover them. In order to obtain these chips for the Rebellion, the Alliance to Restore the Republic contracted Jaxxon T. Tumperakki, a Lepi smuggler. However, Foxtrain thwarted his attempt to steal the chips, which was followed by the arrival of the Empire and the start of a gun battle. Tumperakki then used his numerous Lepi relatives to cause a diversion, allowing him to get away and successfully deliver the chips to the Alliance.
