The Lepi were a species possessing sentience, easily identified by their slender builds, elongated ears, and prominent front teeth. Jaxxon, a smuggler, stands out as a well-known member of this species.
Lepi were tall, slender creatures that walked on two legs. Key features included a pair of tall, upright ears, noticeable buck teeth, and delicate whiskers near their mouths. Their bodies were covered in fur, sometimes green in hue. Their upper limbs terminated in five-fingered hands, complete with an opposable thumb, while their lower limbs ended in sizable feet. Jaxxon, a Lepi himself, once quipped that he was a "two-meter bunny."
Large families were typical for the Lepi. Jaxxon mentioned having hundreds of living relatives, too many to accurately count.
Several Lepi held leadership positions within the Coachelle Automata organization. Thrar, a racer and another Lepi, represented Coachelle Prime in the forty-eighth annual Dragonfire Air Rally. The smuggler Jaxxon also aided the Alliance to Restore the Republic on at least two occasions during the Galactic Civil War. He had a vast extended family, including cousins like Reegor, Peeta, Arvi, Benji, and Maxx.
Years prior, during the Galactic Republic's final period, Jedi Knights Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker encountered a displeased Lepi aboard the Wheel space station who provided information about the location of Grynask Sanberge. Furthermore, a Lepi was seen in Takodana Castle on Takodana thirty years following the Battle of Endor.
The Lepi made their initial appearance in Star Wars canon with the third edition of The Force Awakens Adaptation, penned by Chuck Wendig and visually brought to life by Marc Laming. However, their original conception occurred within the Star Wars Legends continuity in Star Wars (1977) 8, a 1977 comic book authored by Roy Thomas and illustrated by Howard Chaykin.
