A Rodian is pictured, note the ears positioned on the sides of its head.
The ear, the auditory sensory organ, is characterized by a visible tissue flap. Across many species, ears are typically found in pairs, positioned symmetrically on either side of the head. Certain species, including the rupings, Lanniks, and Lasats, possessed enhanced hearing capabilities due to their larger ear structures, surpassing the auditory range of humans. Pau'ans from Utapau exhibited acutely sensitive hearing, necessitating the use of specialized coverings to shield their delicate ears. The Yuzzum species featured antennae-like ears, while Gungans were distinguished by their elongated, fin-shaped ears, with prominent lobes known as haillu. Among Twi'lek beings, ear morphology displayed sexual dimorphism; males had somewhat pointed ears, akin to those of humans, whereas females possessed conal nodes.
