Roy Thomas and Howard Chaykin penned the story, while Chaykin and Tom Palmer provided the artwork. Marvel Comics initially released it on November 8, 1977. This issue showcases the tale "Eight for Aduba-3," which marks the introduction of Han Solo and Chewbacca to a variety of fresh faces, such as Jaxxon, Amaiza Foxtrain, and the Cloud-Riders.

Plot summary

Ramiz, a moisture farmer residing on Aduba-3, enlists Han Solo and Chewbacca to safeguard his village from the Cloud-Riders, a group of local criminals headed by Serji-X Arrogantus. To aid them in this endeavor, Han and Chewbacca recruit six unconventional spacers, including Don-Wan Kihotay, an elderly man who believes himself to be a Jedi Knight, and Jaxxon, a rabbit-esque Lepi with a disagreeable personality. Serji-X attempts to dissuade Han from his protective mission, even offering him payment, but Han refuses.

Concurrently, on Yavin 4, Luke Skywalker, C-3PO, and R2-D2 depart in a scout ship to scout out a potential location for the new base of the Rebel Alliance.
