Treasury room

The Treasury room functioned as a vault inside the Jedi Temple situated on Coruscant. It served as a secure location for the Jedi Order's valuables, as well as the possessions of other worlds loyal to the Order.

History

In the year 44 BBY, the Galactic Senate reached out to the Jedi Order, requesting them to safeguard a shipment of crystalline vertex. This substance was highly valuable and the subject of conflict between two separate star systems. The Order agreed to act as an impartial custodian of the vertex until peace negotiations could yield a resolution. They discreetly secured the shipment within the Treasury Room. Consequently, the Jedi Council was particularly concerned when a series of robberies began occurring within the Temple. Jedi Masters Qui-Gon Jinn and Tahl were tasked with identifying the perpetrator.

The two Masters soon realized that the Dark Jedi known as Xanatos was responsible for the attacks, and that a larger scheme was in progress. Xanatos sabotaged the Temple's tech center, with the intent of infiltrating the Treasury Room during the Temple's power recycle. Anticipating this plan, Jinn and his Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, positioned themselves inside the room, awaiting the power outage in silence. When Xanatos emerged from the ventilation shaft alongside his accomplice Bruck Chun, Jinn and Kenobi engaged them, lightsabers activated. Xanatos immediately seized Chun and threatened to kill him if the Jedi approached. Kenobi pretended to be impatient to make Xanatos underestimate him, which eventually led to Chun's release and a lightsaber duel commencing between the Dark Jedi and the Jedi Master. Chun fled the chamber, pursued by Kenobi, who raced towards the Room of a Thousand Fountains to fulfill Xanatos's broader objective. In the meantime, Xanatos and Jinn fought, eventually ascending to the Council Chamber and then onto the window ledge, from where Xanatos made his escape.

Layout

This circular chamber, located directly beneath the High Council Chamber, was accessible only to members of the High Council. It was protected by a blast door. A small flight of stairs descended from the Council Chamber's outer hall into a small hall that led to the blast door. Once a retinal scan was successfully completed, the door would retract upwards, granting entry into the vault chamber. The Treasury was positioned directly above the Operations Planning Center.
