It was considered sacred by the native Wookiee people, who customarily observed their age-old Life Day festivities in its vicinity. Wookiee families usually selected an old tree to symbolize the original Tree of Life, decorating it with radiant Life Day Orbs. For Wookiees located far away from Kashyyyk, a basic ceremony could be performed using either a tree picture or a simple piece of wood.
