The Tunroth Hunters represented an exclusive and highly skilled group within the Tunroth society. Becoming a Hunter was reserved for only the most accomplished individuals, a journey that necessitated undergoing a three-month initiation ceremony and securing approval from three existing Hunters. The selection hinged on assessing the applicant's proficiency, wise decision-making, and drive. Unfavorable traits, including excessive contentiousness or avarice, could prevent acceptance irrespective of the applicant's abilities.
The Hunter hierarchy consisted of twenty-seven distinct tiers, with advancement dictated by stringent regulations. The designation for the twelfth tier was shturlan, while the nineteenth tier was known as chirlan. Stiilran marked the twenty-seventh and ultimate tier, a rank almost never attained—no Tunroth reached this level throughout the eras of the Galactic Republic, Galactic Empire, or the New Republic. Nearly all Tunroth aimed to achieve a prominent Hunter ranking, and the most celebrated Hunters were honored within the ancient Hall of Predation. The Tunroth regarded this structure as sacred, and it was the sole memorial they recognized.
Among the notable Tunroth Hunters were Kiran Tatch (shturlan) and Tonas Vueral (chirlan). Shotarr Kass, an agent of the Black Sun syndicate, also sought to become a Hunter.
