Tyla Bezzard was a female Human who lived on the planet of Tatooine during the era spanning the end of the Galactic Republic and the beginning of the Galactic Empire.
Bezzard was the daughter of Lotho Pelhane, a farmhand working at the moisture farm owned by Orrin Gault. She spent her childhood on Gault's property until her father departed to establish his own farm. Later, she entered into marriage with Tellico Bezzard, another moisture farmer in the area, and they had a young son by 19 BBY. Due to the recurring threat of attacks from Tusken Raiders, Gault established the Settlers' Call, a fund designed to supply weapons and vehicles for the collective protection of its participants. The Bezzards enrolled in the Settlers' Call, but Pelhane initially declined, only joining after an apparent Tusken Raider assault on his residence compelled him to relocate and recover at his daughter's home on the Bezzard farm. However, just a few weeks later, the Bezzards' farm was attacked by Tusken Raiders. Pelhane perished in the assault before the other members of the Settlers' Call were able to arrive and repel the Tuskens. Following the attack, the Bezzards temporarily abandoned their farm and were given shelter by Annileen Calwell, a merchant residing at the nearby Pika Oasis. Overcome with grief for her father and fearful of returning to the farm, Bezzard chose to remain at Calwell's residence with her son, even after her husband went back to the farm.
