During the era of the Galactic Civil War, Ugtaur served as a guard for the Hutt Crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure. Specifically, this male Gamorrean was stationed at Jabba's Palace on the planet Tatooine sometime following the Battle of Yavin which occurred in 0 BBY.
In the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, Ugtaur appeared as one of thirteen Gamorrean non-player characters within Jabba's palace. This massively multiplayer online roleplaying game was developed by Sony Online Entertainment and distributed by LucasArts. The game's servers were ultimately shut down on December 15, 2011. The inclusion of Ugtaur created inconsistencies with other canon sources, which indicated that only nine Gamorreans were employed at the palace. Furthermore, the absence of Jubnuk, Thug, Thok, Warlug, Ghana Gleemort, and Grissom from the game suggests a possible total of nineteen Gamorrean guards working for Jabba.
