Unidentified air rodeo owner
A female person was the proprietor of a traveling air rodeo. This rodeo, at one stage, showcased trained thrantas, which are a species of sizable, winged beings. At some point during her ownership of the rodeo, and while married to her spouse, she was abducted by an animal rights group. This group aimed to halt traveling air rodeos. Their motivation was to demonstrate to the owner the discomfort experienced by the thrantas during transit, due to the lack of sunlight essential for their photosynthesis.
Biography
The woman in question was the owner of a traveling air rodeo that put trained thrantas on display, a non-sentient species of large, flying creatures. At some point in her existence, she entered into marriage with a man. Sometime later, an animal rights group kidnapped the owner. Their intention was to deprive her of food for a week, thereby illustrating the hunger experienced by the thrantas during transportation when they were denied the sunlight vital for photosynthesis. The group's objective was to cease the operation of traveling air rodeos, and therefore they did not demand a ransom.
Following the owner's capture, a known group of individuals in the locality were requested to perform a rescue. The owner's husband was prepared to compensate the group for successfully rescuing his wife.
Behind the scenes
The air rodeo owner's initial appearance was within an adventure concept in "Rodeo Thranta," an article penned by Jeff Quick as part of the Creature Feature series of articles for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game. It was published on Wizards of the Coast's website. This article was released on December 12, 2002. The adventure ideas and characters were designed for use by gamemasters at any time after thrantas were first used in air rodeos, which predated the destruction of the thrantas' home planet, Alderaan. The player characters had the choice to rescue her, with or without payment from her husband.
