Unidentified traveling air rodeo
A female owner once possessed a mobile air rodeo showcasing thrantas. An animal rights group abducted the rodeo's female proprietor, intending to deprive her of food for a week. This action was meant to illustrate the suffering of the large, winged thrantas, who experienced near-starvation during transit due to insufficient sunlight needed for their photosynthesis.
Following the abduction of the rodeo's owner, local notables were solicited for assistance in locating her.
Behind the scenes
The mobile air rodeo originated as an adventure concept in Rodeo Thranta, a piece by Jeff Quick for the Creature Feature series in the Star Wars Roleplaying Game, hosted on Wizards of the Coast's website. Its publication date was December 12, 2002, and the adventure ideas could be implemented by game masters from the initial use of thrantas in air rodeos onward. This initial use occurred before the destruction of Alderaan, the thrantas' home planet.
