The agriworld of Biitu, situated in the Outer Rim, was home to towering trees characterized by light-colored bark and verdant leaves. These trees yielded orange fruit, a consumable food source for both the native Biituians and various reptiles.
On Biitu, the trees were meticulously cultivated by the indigenous Biituians in extensive orchards, where they gathered the fruit using sizable baskets. However, the arrival of the Galactic Empire, seeking Biitu's valuable fuel [ore](/article/ore/legends], resulted in the devastation of some of these trees. The powerful winds generated by low-flying Imperial craft stripped them of their foliage and uprooted them. Subsequently, the orchards became desolate due to the deployment of an Imperial "moisture eater," which extracted all moisture from the atmosphere, causing a severe drought. Nevertheless, resistance mounted by the Biituian Fidge, accompanied by his pet Chubb, the droids C-3PO and R2-D2, and the merchant Mungo Baobab, culminated in the destruction of the moisture eater and the ultimate defeat of the Imperial forces. With the restoration of moisture, the fruit trees flourished once more, and the Biituians put captured Imperials to work in the restoration of their crops.
These trees made their appearance in The Great Heep, a 1986 television movie that served as a tie-in to the animated television series Star Wars: Droids.
