Unidentified blaster pistol model (Post-Imperial era)
A blaster pistol design was present within the galaxy as early as 5 ABY, according to the galactic standard calendar. This blaster's design featured a straightforward box-like frame, a wooden handle without any trigger protection, and an extended, slender barrel. This blaster pistol discharged green laser bolts with high precision. It gained popularity among Rodian bounty hunters and certain members of the Lumini Pirates. Moreover, this weapon was adopted by officers in the Galactic Empire, alongside Imperial vehicle pilots and TIE pilots, and saw limited usage among scout troopers. By 10 ABY, officers serving in the New Republic also began to utilize this weapon.
Behind the scenes
This blaster pistol model was featured in the video game Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II along with its expansion, Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith. Enemies equipped with pistols would drop this weapon; however, the player was unable to use it. Collecting the weapon would simply add ammunition to the player's inventory. In Mysteries of the Sith, when dropped, the weapon would be replaced by a DL-44 heavy blaster pistol, with the exception of walker pilots, who would drop an E-11 blaster rifle instead of their sidearm.
