Unidentified clone trooper commander (Rishi)

A clone trooper commander served the Galactic Republic's Green Company during the period of the Clone Wars. Circa 21 BBY, Green Company received orders to proceed to the planet of Rishi with the goal of retaking exonium mines that had been seized by Geonosian forces. Upon Green Company's arrival at Rishi, Rishii Chieftain Gwarrk gave the order for the clone troopers to launch an assault on the exonium mines; however, the attack failed, and Jedi Master Kit Fisto soon commanded a withdrawal. While Gwarrk continued to advocate for another assault, Fisto requested the best sharpshooter from the clone commander, who chose trooper 2242. After witnessing Fisto weaken the enemy defenses with the assistance of 2242, the commander rallied his troops and spearheaded the effort to recapture the mines.

Biography

One of the many clones produced from the Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett was a clone trooper commander. He was created on the planet of Kamino with the purpose of fighting for the Galactic Republic. The commander served in the Republic's Green Company during the time of the Clone Wars. Around 21 BBY, Geonosian forces attacked the planet Rishi. They gained control of the exonium mines located there, as they needed to acquire exonium minerals for their sonic weaponry. The clone commander and his unit were sent to protect the native Rishii and were instructed not to engage in combat until the arrival of a Jedi General. However, Rishii Chieftain Gwarrk assumed command and led the clone troopers in an assault against the exonium mines, as his people required the minerals to prepare their food during cold periods.

The attack failed due to the Geonosians' strong defenses, and upon arriving on Rishi, Jedi Master Kit Fisto ordered a retreat. Fisto informed the chieftain that the troops were there solely to protect the Rishii from the Confederacy and emphasized that no attack should have been initiated before his arrival. The clone commander told Fisto that the Geonosians had established a well-fortified defense, but Gwarrk insisted on launching another assault. Fisto, however, devised an alternative strategy and requested the company's best sniper from the commander, who directed him to trooper 2242, known as "Cooker." Soon after, Fisto proceeded to the mines' entrance without informing either the commander or Gwarrk.

When Gwarrk inquired about the Jedi's whereabouts, the clone commander informed him that Fisto appeared to have begun an attack, as he could observe the Jedi through his electrobinoculars. Meanwhile, Fisto instructed Cooker to open fire, and the Jedi used his lightsaber to deflect the shots toward the Geonosians. Upon seeing Fisto engaged in combat, the clone commander rallied his troops and departed in Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry gunships to provide support to the Jedi General. By this point, the Geonosians had suffered significant losses due to the combined efforts of Fisto and Cooker. The Republic forces, along with some Rishii warriors, then arrived and attacked the mines, compelling the remaining Geonosians stationed there to retreat. Following this, Gwarrk acknowledged Fisto's great power and recognized the Jedi's combat skills.

Personality and traits

The clone commander followed the instructions given by his officers in command—Chieftain Gwarrk and General Kit Fisto. However, despite receiving orders not to attack until a Jedi arrived, the commander chose to obey Gwarrk's orders to initiate the battle. He remained silent when Gwarrk made disparaging remarks about his troops, but after the battle, the Rishii chieftain commended the commander for his effective performance in combat. Like all clones produced from Jango Fett, the commander's height was 1.83 meters.

Equipment

As a member of the Republic's Green Company, the clone commander wore green Phase I clone trooper armor and utilized electrobinoculars during the battle that took place on Rishi.

The clone commander made his initial appearance in the 2009 Free Comic Book Day comic titled The Clone Wars: The Gauntlet of Death, which was written by Henry Gilroy and illustrated by Ramón K. Pérez.
