A training hall, or dojo, existed on the planet Naporar within the Chiss Ascendancy's territory. This facility was situated below the living quarters of Senior Cadet Irizi'ar'alani, whose core name was "Ziara." It featured a weapons rack holding soft-coat sticks for sparring, along with protective gear for the face and chest. A mat covered the floor, and its edge had a distinct texture to warn fighters when they approached the boundary.
Between the years of 39 BBY and 37 BBY, Ziara and Cadet Mitth'raw'nuruodo, known as "Thrawn," engaged in a sparring match within the dojo, utilizing the sticks from the rack. The purpose of their fight was for Thrawn to demonstrate his ability to discern an adversary's vulnerabilities through the analysis of their artistic creations. He succeeded in this task after examining the senior cadet's wire sculptures, skillfully besting her during their sparring encounter.
This dojo was featured in Timothy Zahn's 2020 book Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising, which is the initial installment of The Ascendancy Trilogy.
