An adversary of the Chiss Ascendancy, specifically the Chiss species originating from the Unknown Regions, engaged in a war with the Ascendancy. This conflict took place several centuries following 5019 BBY. This foe of the Chiss species managed to seize all Chiss territories, with the exception of their homeworld, Csilla. Subsequently, they drove the Chiss back to Csilla, as the Chiss were aware they could not win the war, where the Chiss gathered their fleet and armies to prepare for a final assault. Facing potential annihilation, the Chiss opted to deploy the alien superweapon called Starflash. They placed it on a starship positioned within the enemy's fleet and then activated it, directing tachyonic energy towards Csilla's sun while simultaneously unleashing a devastating counter-attack upon their enemies.
This enemy of the Chiss was referenced within the 2021 publication Thrawn Ascendancy: Lesser Evil. This novel serves as the concluding installment of the Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy, authored by Timothy Zahn.
