An Ewok scout made its home on the moon of Endor, a location in the Outer Rim orbiting a gas giant planet. This was around 19 BBY, the concluding year of the Clone Wars, a conflict also known as a war. When troops from the Galactic Republic landed on Endor, the Ewok's tribe captured Jedi Knight Aayla Secura, a female Twi'lek who had accompanied the Republic clone troopers. They also captured a deactivated B1 battle droid. Both were taken back to the Ewok village. Secura had come to investigate the disappearance of a battle droid outpost and a group of clone troopers. The Ewoks used a poison dart to render her unconscious before capturing her. Upon waking in the village, the Ewok scout was the first to approach her, showing curiosity about her lekku. Secura responded angrily, telling the Ewok to keep its distance. The Ewok chieftain, using the battle droid for translations, explained that a monster had been menacing the village. The Ewoks, seeing Secura as a forest spirit, wanted her to eliminate the monster. The Ewok scout, along with others, escorted Secura to the monster's cave, located high above the forest. After pointing out the cave, the Ewoks awaited her return. Secura succeeded in her task to kill the monster, but the battle droid translator was destroyed during the fight.
