In the year 3 ABY, an officer serving the Imperial forces detected the presence of the Rebel Fleet as they journeyed towards their designated Rebel rendezvous point. Subsequently, utilizing his Strike-class medium cruiser accompanied by a complement of nine TIE/LN starfighters, he initiated an engagement with the Rebel forces. Rogue Squadron launched an assault on his vessel and its fighter escort, aiming to preempt any report of their location. Despite his efforts to transmit the Rebel Fleet's coordinates to the Executor, Rebel forces had deployed a jamming field, effectively blocking his communication. Ultimately, he tried to order a withdrawal, even diverting maximum shielding to the rear of his cruiser to facilitate his getaway. However, this decision neglected adequate protection for the cruiser's front, resulting in his demise when Rogue 5 capitalized on this vulnerability with a direct frontal assault. Even though he perished, a partial version of his attempted transmission did reach the Executor, which Darth Vader then acknowledged.
