However, due to circumstances that remain shrouded in mystery, the satellite was ejected from its established path and was headed for a collision with the nearby world. At this juncture, the rogue satellite was hurtling through space at speeds exceeding the limit of light and was enveloped by a powerful electromagnetic aura.
During this period, Luke Skywalker was a student at the academy, serving as a member of the Planetary Pioneers. With no opportunity to evacuate the world, Skywalker and the Planetary Pioneers took to their aging X-wing spacecraft in an effort to obliterate the rogue satellite using Zukonium energy beams.
By harnessing the power of the Force, Skywalker proved to be the only aviator capable of breaching the satellite's formidable electromagnetic defenses. He then unleashed the Zukonium energy beams at the satellite's core, successfully destroying it. Skywalker's X-wing sustained damage from the resulting explosion, compelling him to execute an emergency landing. Upon his return to the academy, Her Royal Highness Leia Organa bestowed upon Skywalker a distinguished service award for his heroic act of saving the world.
