A soldier of fortune, in the employ of Kam Nale, a crime lord from Fluggrian, took Aldar Beedo into custody circa 22 BBY. Beedo, the Glymphid hit-man who also worked as a Podracer pilot, was participating in the Fire Mountain Rally on the jungle world of Baroonda, which is located in the Outer Rim. During the race, the mercenary shot Beedo down, and then apprehended the Glymphid. Following this, Beedo was transported to Nale's base of operations, where he was intended to atone for the murder of Nale's father which had occurred some years prior. A HoloNet News edition later documented this event, raising concerns about the safety of Podracing and referencing this incident alongside other problematic Podracing-related occurrences.
The first mention of the mercenary appeared in HoloNet News Vol. 531 #49, a in-universe HoloNet News issue created by Pablo Hidalgo and Paul Ens. It was released on the HoloNet News website on March 28, 2002.
