Unidentified Mon Calamari commander (Mon Cala)

A Mon Calamari served as a commander in the fight against the Galactic Empire during the invasion of Mon Cala. Throughout this period of conflict, the aforementioned Mon Calamari was under the command of Admiral Raddus.

Biography

During the Imperial invasion of Mon Cala, this particular Mon Calamari commander found himself aboard a Mon Calamari Star Cruiser, part of the Mon Cala Mercantile Fleet. Admiral Raddus, his commanding officer, had been charged by King Lee-Char with the defense of the southern polar regions, devising a tactic that Governor Wilhuff Tarkin of the Empire considered ingenious. Raddus commandeered the Star Cruiser, along with others, from the nearby Mon Calamari Shipyards, linking their sophisticated shielding systems together. This created a substantial shield bubble surrounding the small fleet. During the defensive operation, the commander informed Raddus that the shields were holding at full capacity, to which Raddus responded with confidence. Subsequently, the commander questioned whether the Imperials would eventually tire of their losses and retreat, with Raddus expressing a somewhat contrary desire.

As events unfolded, Tarkin's three Imperial I-class Star Destroyers initiated a bombarding of the northern hemisphere, with turbolaser fire devastating Mon Calamari settlements. The commander soon reported to Raddus the destruction of a fifth settlement, Zeran Town. Following this, the commander noted that the bombardment was intensifying but had not yet targeted the southern hemisphere. Raddus explained that the planet's curvature offered some advantage, but once the Star Destroyers focused on them, their shields would only withstand a limited number of hits. Raddus instructed the commander to prepare the other ships to disconnect their shields upon his signal. When the commander inquired about their actions in the interim, Raddus stated they would continue to fight.

The commander ordered the cruisers to launch

Shortly thereafter, Raddus received a communication from Lee-Char, the king of Mon Cala, ordering an immediate ceasefire for all of Mon Cala's defensive forces across the planet. Raddus, taken aback, refused to comply, asserting that they could not simply surrender. Lee-Char capitulated to Moff Tarkin, but the bombardment persisted until the king was taken into custody. With the Star Destroyers now targeting the southern hemisphere, Raddus resolved to act. He directed the commander to order all cruisers to launch. The commander expressed disbelief that the cruisers could survive against the Star Destroyers, but Raddus countered that remaining stationary would only guarantee their demise. The commander followed through with the order, and the cruisers launched, heading toward the blockade. As the cruisers advanced, two were destroyed, but the one carrying Raddus and the commander survived. Tarkin allowed the remaining three to proceed, stating they would eventually be found.

Personality and traits

This particular Mon Calamari possessed orange skin and brown eyes. Raddus placed his trust in him to relay all pertinent information during the defense of the southern polar regions and tasked him with conveying orders to the other ships. Despite Raddus's assurance that it was better than passively awaiting death, the Mon Calamari harbored misgivings about Raddus's strategy when instructed to prepare the cruisers for launch.

Equipment

The commander's attire consisted of aegean blue garments, including a vivid denim blue tunic worn over his torso. The sleeves were rolled up to a shorter length, and his belt was the same color as his tunic.
