Zeran Town, found in the northern region of the planet Mon Cala, existed under the authority of the Mon Calamari monarchy. During the Galactic Empire's invasion of Mon Cala in 18 BBY, Governor Wilhuff Tarkin gave the order for an orbital bombardment of the planet, which was carried out by the Empire's Imperial I-class Star Destroyers. Zeran Town was among the numerous cities obliterated on the planet as a result of this bombardment.
Subsequently, on the Profundity, Admiral Raddus' enhanced MC75 Star Cruiser, a Mon Calamari commander informed Raddus that Zeran Town had ceased operations and that all communications from it had ceased. The commander further pointed out that Zeran Town marked the fifth northern settlement to be razed by the Empire.
The comic-book series Star Wars: Darth Vader mentioned Zeran Town in its seventeenth issue. Charles Soule wrote the issue, and Marvel Comics released it on June 13, 2018.
