Charles Soule is not only a writer of comic-books and novels, but also functions as a Creative Consultant for Lucasfilm.
Before penning the Star Wars: Poe Dameron series, the Star Wars: Darth Vader (2017) series, and the Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren miniseries, Charles Soule was the author of the Star Wars: Lando and Star Wars: Obi-Wan and Anakin miniseries for Marvel Comics. Currently, he is the writer for Marvel's main Star Wars comic book series, which takes place after the events of Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.
The comic issue Marvel Comics #1000, which celebrated the eightieth anniversary of Marvel Comics, included his story "Red Four".
Soule is presently collaborating with Cavan Scott, Claudia Gray, Daniel José Older, and Justina Ireland on Star Wars: The High Republic. As part of The High Republic initiative, Soule's inaugural Star Wars novel was released, marking the beginning of the multimedia publishing campaign. The High Republic: Light of the Jedi saw publication in January of 2021. Subsequently, he concluded the initial phase of The High Republic initiative by writing the 2-part comic mini series The High Republic: Eye of the Storm, published from January to March of 2022.
During a Twitter exchange on April 27, 2022, it came to light that Soule's involvement with Lucasfilm and the Star Wars narrative had deepened, as he assumed the role of Creative Consultant for the company.
