A RA-7 protocol droid functioned as a sentinel for a village, integrated within a cohort of sentinels overseen by a Trandoshan. During an assault on the village by a band of marauders headed by a Sith, the sentinels endeavored to protect the villagers. The protocol droid discharged a blaster cannon at the Sith, but the leader of the bandits employed her lightsaber parasol to redirect the projectile, thereby exposing her Sith affiliation. Subsequent to the killing of the Trandoshan commander by the Sith, the droid responded by shooting at the bandit. Nevertheless, the Sith advanced upon the sentinel, bisecting its weapon, and then obliterating the droid. Following the intervention of a wandering ex-Sith known as Ronin to fight the Sith, he hurled the droid's remains at the bandit to divert her attention.
The inaugural appearance of the RA-7 protocol droid occurred in "The Duel," a brief cinematic work from the Star Wars: Visions anthology, with Takanobu Mizuno at the helm as director, Kamikaze Douga serving as the production company, and its debut on Disney+ taking place on September 22, 2021. Ikuto Kanemasa provided the vocal performance for the droid in the original Japanese version, while Michael Sinterniklaas lent his voice in the English language adaptation.
